Jewellery boxes in times of strangeness

Now that we are all at home, we find ourselves organising the darkest parts of our living space. Those that are filled with old memories, but also with old dreams and fears. C.P. Estés in 'Women Who Run With The Wolves' mentions that in these situations we ask ourselves:

'What has happened to my soul-voice? What are the buried bones of my life? [..] When was the last time I ran free? How do I make life come alive again?'

The latter we may ask ourselves particularly often in this time.

So, while you are blundering along your attics, cupboards under the stairs, magic wardrobes, and accessory drawers, a jewellery box might be just what you need. After all, it's time to get organised.

Here is a list, but be warned, there are so many options, it hurts to make a choice. However, hard choices equal easy life. So, you can as well do it!

  • A list from most expensive to bargain
  • Boxes, boxes, boxes
  • This is only the beginning of your gorgeous jewellery collection

Shanghai Tang: Forbidden Garden Lacquer Jewellery Box

The ultimate box for jewellery lovers. It is hand-painted with several layers of lacquer. It is the definition of luxury. All you need is a bit of cash. (£809)

Fendi: Confanetto jacquard-stripe jewellery box

Striped canvas and patent leather. Cute. Like a bunny. Not really practical. Anyway, you should know about it. (£750)

Ginger Rose: Ladies Personalised Leather Jewellery Box (via Not on the High Street)

Radiating warmth and encouraging creativity is what this leather covered box does. Beautiful personalisation. (£169)

Aspinal: Bijou Jewellery Box

For the elegant minimalist. (£225)

World Menagerie: Mother of Pearl Jewellery Box (via Wayfair)

This gem speaks for itself. (£123)

Stackers: Zodiac Jewellery Box

The Zodiac collection is catching my eye. But for those that are serious about organisation, go for the Supersize Jewellery Box (Set for £100).

Oliver Bonas: Alys Five Drawer Jewellery Box

Love this unique box that comes in the up-cycled look. (£69)
